Gallbladder Cancer
The gallbladder is a small shaped organ that is located in the right side of the abdomen, just underneath the liver. Gallbladder cancer initiates in the gallbladder and is considered to be quite a rare disease. It often poses a certain level of difficulty in diagnosis with the symptoms not being clearly manifested, leading to the diagnosis of the disease at the last stage when cure becomes almost impossible. The ‘hidden’ location of the organ may also be seen as a factor behind the undetected growth of the cancerous cells.
Symptoms of Gallbladder Cancer:-
Normally this type of cancer The cancer in the organ is often detected after the gallbladder is removed for some other purpose such as gallbladder stone. However, there are certain signs and symptoms that one could look out for-
- Feeling Nausea and Vomiting also bloating and pain.
- Fever and yellowish skin with white eye.
- Weight Loss.

Surgery option for Gallbladder Surgery
Surgery may be an option if you have an early-stage gallbladder cancer. Options include:
- Surgery to remove the gallbladder. Early gallbladder cancer that is confined to the gallbladder is treated with an operation to remove the gallbladder (cholecystectomy).
- Surgery to remove the gallbladder and a portion of the liver. Gallbladder cancer that extends beyond the gallbladder and into the liver is sometimes treated with surgery to remove the gallbladder, as well as portions of the liver and bile ducts that surround the gallbladder.
Chemotherapy
In Chemotherapy drugs are used to kill cancer cells.
Radiation therapy
Radiation therapy uses high-powered beams of energy, such as X-rays and protons, to kill cancer cells.
Targeted drug therapy
In this treatment drugs are used to target week cancer cells. By blocking these weaknesses, targeted drug treatments can cause cancer cells to die.
