Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is a type of cancer which starts in the breast. Cancer starts when cells begin to grow rapidly.
Breast cancer cells usually form a tumor which may feel as lump. Breast cancer are normally occurs in women but men can also get breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Symptoms
The symptoms of breast cancer include:
- A lump or thickened area in or near your breast or underarm that lasts through your period
- Small lump, under the breast.
- Changes to the size and shape of breast.
- Blood discharg from nipple.
- Inflammed nipple.
- Red skin on your breast or nipple
- Changes in the shape or position of your nipple
- An area that’s different from any other area on either breast
Breast Cancer Treatment
If the patient is diagnose with Breast Cancer your doctor advise you for treatment which will depend on the size and location of the tumor.
Surgery
Breast-conserving surgery. In this surgery the surgeon will only the parts of breast which are cancerous with the surrounding tissues. Depending on the size and location where tumor is present the portion is removed. This surgery also known as Lumpectomy
Mastectomy:-
In Mastectomy the entire breast is removed (removal of the entire breast) is another option. The mastectomy procedures performed today are not the same as the older, radical mastectomies.Radical mastectomies were extensive procedures that involved removing the breast tissue, skin, and chest-wall muscles. Today, mastectomy procedures do not ordinarily remove muscles and, for many women, mastectomies are accompanied by either immediate or delayed breast reconstruction.
Chemotherapy
This procedure is used to kill cancerous cell using drugs. IV is used take medicine. Most people get it after surgery to kill any cancer cells left behind. Chemo is effective treatment after the surgery but can be harmful for healthy cells.
Radiation therapy.
In radiation therapy waves are use to killer cancer cells. Many women get radiation therapy after lumpectomy to kill remaining cancer cells. It helps doctors to destroy the cancer cell which are difficult to remove.
